The days of “ink on paper” fingerprinting are quickly going the way of snail mail. University Postal offers the next generation of fingerprint technology—Digital Fingerprinting in University Postal.
Unlike ink-on-paper fingerprints, digital fingerprints can be transmitted electronically and shared among agencies. It is more efficient and cost-effective, so many states, federal agencies, and industries no longer accept ink-on-paper—they now require digital fingerprinting.
If you’re a part of certain agencies or industry groups, you will probably need to get “digitally fingerprinted” as a requirement of your employment or participation.
Clearance Cards for the State of Arizona ONLY
On Saturday November 19, 2022 the Department of Public Safety (DPS) and the State of Arizona will be transitioning electronic fingerprinting services from Gemalto/Thales to Fieldprint, Inc. To provide the best customer service and to ensure a seamless transition, DPS has developed the following transition plan.
1. All Gemalto/Thales registrations will be honored up to Friday November 18, 2022, provided the applicant completes the registration and fingerprinting BEFORE Saturday November 19, 2022
2.All fingerprint registrations for Fieldprint, Inc, will be begin on Saturday November 19, 2022
3. If the applicant registers with Gemalto/Thales prior to Friday November 18,2022 and DOES NOT complete the fingerprinting process by Saturday November 19,2022. The applicant will be given a refund and directed with Fieldprint, Inc.
4. If the applicant registers prior to Friday November 18,2022 and completes the fingerprinting process, however, prints are REJECTED, the applicant will be given a refund and directed to register with Fieldprint, Inc.

For level one and IVP cards. Start with the Arizona Department of Public Safety. After you have completed and paid for the processing of your Clearance Card, go into the Message area on your account and retrieve the Reference Number that starts with either a "P" or "IVPP". You will need this Reference Number to register and pay for the actual fingerprinting.
Now go to the Gemalto website to register and pay. Once you have paid you will receive a Registration ID that starts with AZDPS. We will need this number in order to fingerprint you.
University Postal does State of Arizona fingerprinting on a walk-in basis during the hours of Monday to Friday 9:30am to 5:00pm
